The crazy trippy video for My People by The Presets. Ive recently discovered them through Last.FM.  Enjoyed better when under the influence of something...

Fucking Awesome Friday - Lucille Bogan - Shave 'em Dry (1935)

Friday, October 30, 2009
The fact that I am writing about a woman who recorded a song in 1935 immediately means she is more famous than I will ever be. The fact the subject matter at hand (prostitution, VD, hot dogs and hallways)would make Eminem blush and Brotha Lynch Hung salute means it must be time for another FAF. Yes, I dropped not one but two rap refernces on your ass. Fuck off, not all rap is bad. Watch the fucking awesome video below. I promise its not rap.

Korn teaming up with original producer for new album

Wednesday, October 28, 2009
Korn is teaming up with producer Ross Robinson, who produced the first two Korn albums (and many more!) for their upcoming album. Blabbermouth transcribed an interview with James "Munky" Shaffer that I am now going to leech off of.

The whole record's all organic — it's all guitars, bass, drums and Jonathan's [Davis, vocals] raw emotion, and it's just... man. Some of the stuff that Ross is pulling out of Jonathan, it's just like, 'Wow!' You can feel the energy, the pain, whatever it might be he's singing about that day.
When I come up with a riff, or Fieldy [bassist Reginald Arvizu] comes up with a riff, [we'll be like], 'It's OK.' And then Ross will say, 'Keep playing it. Try to develop it more.' And then when Ray steps in and puts his beats down, it could be the crappiest riff ever, but he starts playing to it, and it's like, 'Bam!' It turns it up on ten

I basically really liked everything I heard Munky say in the interview.

My biggest problem with Korn for the last several albums has been the formulatic approach to music. Each song sounds the same with different riff and tempo. I would love to hear some of the more orignal and inspired work. Ross Robinson has produced a lot of great albums over the years. The original Korn lineup was filled with talent, and Robinson has a way of pulling that talent out of musicians. This news makes me finally look forward to a new Korn album.

Best.Bootleg.Ever. NIN's complete The Downward Spiral performance

Monday, October 26, 2009
Found via Metal Injuction:

One NIN fanatic searched far and wide and found 11 different people at the show who bootleged it (in HD nonetheless!), they edited it and now, presumably with Trent’s blessing, the entire show is online and downloadable for FREE.
Wow.. 11 people bootlegging the same concert in HIGH DEF. From what I've seen so far, this is the best bootleg EVER. Click here to download it.  I've embedded a bit of the video below.

So this is what a goat would sound like if they could sing....

One of those things I've always wondered. Thanks to YouTube, I now know the answer.

Thanks Kevin!

DETHKLOK meets Brutal Legend's Eddie Riggs

Sunday, October 25, 2009
The ultimate in BRUTAL metal meetings. On a side note, Dethklok's Dethalbum II premiered at #15 on the Billboard charts last week. Metal.

Sunday Metal Mania: Cannibal Corpse - Evisceration Plague

Your Sunday Metal Mania for this week is Cannibal Corpse... Enjoy the head pounding action!

Saturday Electronic: Juno Reactor: Pistolero

Saturday, October 24, 2009
If you are not familiar with Juno Reactor, you are missing out. This is one of the most badass electronic/techo/whatever songs ever recorded. I'm not sure if the video is legit, but its cool regardless. The song is from the soundtrack to Once Upon a Time in Mexico. He also did a lot of the music for the second two Matrix movies.

Retro-Music: Jack Off Jill - Strawberry Gashes

Some retro-chick rock for you. Jack Off Jill was a mostly all girl band in the 90's. After they broke up, the singer went on to form Scarling. Here is their song Strawberry Gashes. Even if your remotely interested in this, you should check out their other stuff.  These ladies know how to rock.

Fucking Awesome Friday - Hot Ham N Cheese (Nah Bitch!)

What can I say. The man has his principals and won't negotiate....

Richie Rich Athens - Hot Ham N Cheese (Nah Bitch!)

Yes, I dropped a third rap video on your ass. Suck it.

Fucking Awesome Friday - Lets go smoke some pot!

Friday, October 16, 2009
Sorry for the lack of updates. I've been busy at work and home this week. But don't worry! FAF is still here!

Your FAF for this Friday is a song about a subject near and dear to my heart.  Not that I would ever engage in any illegal activities, but I've heard that marijuana makes crappy music sound better.

I have also heard the Spin Doctors smoke pot. I like to think that this is just a nasty rumor.

Reel Big Fish -  Lets go Smoke Some Pot

Fucking Awesome Friday - Street Sweeper Social Club - Promenade

Friday, October 9, 2009
Tom Morello's new band. That's normally enough. But not on FAF. Here Street Sweeper Social Club perform Promenade extended live during the NIN|JA tour. Its Fucking Awesome what Tom can do with that guitar.

VIVIAN BLACK: THE GREATEST FEMALE IN THE HISTORY OF METAL, EVER

Found via MetalSucks.  Honestly, I cannot improve on their review of this artist at all. Axl Rosenberg says what I am thinking when I listen to her music.

Seriously, Click the link and see for yourself.

Review: Krypteria - My Fatal Kiss

Wednesday, October 7, 2009
Krypteria's new album, My Fatal Kiss, is out in stores now (if you happen to live in Europe).

The first thing to strike me about this album is the lack of anger portrayed though out their last CD, Bloodangel's Cry. Ji-In Cho, the singer, instead seems to have moved passed the pissed off stage and is dealing with sadness, loneliness, new love, among others. That does not mean that this CD is depressing, just that they portray a wider array of emotions.

Video: Bobaflex - Home

Monday, October 5, 2009
A somewhat older video for you all to enjoy. This song isn't their normal sound, but its still great. I saw these guys live opening for Dope in Columbus, and are they crazy. Like hanging from the rafters, doing shots-in-the-crowd-after-their-set crazy. I would recommend seeing them live if you have the chance.

Their singer and lead guitar will switch for different songs, and one of them is a McCoy.. from the Hatfield and McCoy fame.

Fucking Awesome Friday - World's fastest sign rapper, deaf and blind does Eminem's Lose Yourself

Friday, October 2, 2009

OK, his level of deaf (not to be confused with "def") and blindness may be debatable but nonetheless this is absolutely FAF material. The whole song Lose Yourself, done entirely in sign language, done in one take.  I dare any non-deaf, non-blind person to do this. And if you do, I'm sorry, you need a girlfriend and a new hobby. Therefore, you lose and I win yet again. As normal, check the video below for the awesome in action!

Brutal Legend (Game)

At the recommendation of a friend, I downloaded the demo for Brutal Legend on my Xbox. Seeing the commercials on TV, I assumed it was a Guitar Hero/Rock Band clone.  Well its not. Its a beautifully animated piece of metal mayhem that reminds me of Diablo. I have always been one that prefers my games on the PC, but im considering buying this one. Voiced by Jack Black, the games takes you through the life of a roadie who has been sucked into the magical metal underworld ruled by a evil emperor. You use your axe and your axe (literally an axe) to kill druids and demon spawns with the help of your hot love interest.

Brutal Legned features voice acting from Jack Black, Ozzie, Rob Halford, Lita Ford, and Tim Curry. The soundtrack features a ton of songs, including Dethklok, Def Leopard, Black Sabbath, Rob Zombie, Judas Priest, Megadeth, Static-X and many, many more.

My only real gripe is this:  Only EA would put a Do Not Pirate message that you could not skip at the beginning of DEMO. A fucking DEMO. Where you are trying to get as many people exposed to the game using FREE as an incentive.

Krypteria - For You I'll Bring the Devil Down

Thursday, October 1, 2009
The lead single off of Krypteria's new CD is not your typical mushy love song. No, it's a hard rocking symphonic assault that pits singer Ji-In against her doppelganger. mmm... Ji-In x2. This video can't be bad.

Watch the video below.

Be sure to check back for my review of the full album.
